Basement Column

Basement columns are simple structural solutions that serve as supports for the heavy loads of the levels above basements and garages. Also called Lally columns and support posts, these supports are steel, concrete-filled pipes that are prime painted. Their material construction helps to ensure the stability of a building’s structure.

At Sugar Steel Corporation, we fill our steel columns with concrete and add a 4″ x 8″ four-way cap plate. We sell all our columns in 15-piece bundles, and we offer them prime-painted in red and gray. With a 3-½ outer diameter (OD) 14GA steel pipe, our basement columns are available in multiple lengths from 7’0” up to 12’0”. Our basement columns offer an economical alternative to standard steel pipe.
